Bub’s Bakery in the East Village is officially one of my new favorite spots 🍰✨ I went on a Sunday around 1pm and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t much of a wait. Even better, everything was fully stocked, which feels rare for a popular bakery in NYC. I had to try the cinnamon bun… and wow. Easily the best one I’ve had in the city. It had this almost croissant-like flavor and texture, super flaky with a slightly caramelized finish that made it stand out from your typical bun. The ici

Sprawling, Belle Epoque-style brasserie and bakery serving classic French fare and cocktails.
We had a wonderful family breakfast at Lafayette during our trip to New York. The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was beautifully presented. You can tell that great attention is paid to both quality and presentation, making the experience feel special from the moment the food arrives at the table. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. One recommendation for future guests: it’s best to make a reservation in ad

Finally tried the rainbow bagel with birthday cake cream cheese (solid 8.5/10) - I understand the hype now haha - very addicting indeed. Also tried the New York Knicks special bagel and strawberry cream cheese (meh). It’s definitely ‘one and done justified’!

Pastries, fresh bread & celebrated oversized cookies in a relaxed spot that has counter seating.
Levain Bakery absolutely lives up to the hype. After hearing so much about their cookies, I went in with high expectations and somehow they still exceeded them. The cookies are simply incredible: perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and gooey in the center, rich without being overly sweet, and packed with flavor in every bite. They're substantial, indulgent, and somehow manage to feel both comforting and unforgettable at the same time. I've had cookies from countless bakeries, but Levain's are

Bustling taqueria serving tacos, quesadillas & aguas frescas in a street-style setup (no seating).
Los Tacos No.1 on Lafayette was so good it genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. Everything tasted super fresh, hot, and full of flavor, but the real standout was the fried empanada—crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned with a filling that actually tastes like it was made with care, not just thrown together. I’ve had a lot of empanadas before and this one is easily one of the best I’ve ever had, no exaggeration. The tacos were just as solid, simple but packed with bold flavor, and ever

Old-school waiters set the tone at this longtime Italian restaurant and celebrity hangout.
If you’re looking for a true old-school New York Italian restaurant, Emilio’s is the place. The food is outstanding, made with care, and worth every minute of the wait. In a city where so many classic spots have disappeared, Emilio’s remains one of those rare neighborhood gems that reminds you why New York’s food scene is so special. Great food, authentic atmosphere, and the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommended. 💎🍝🇮🇹

Casual hang with a wide menu of American comfort food & happy-hour specials in a spacious setting.
Lovely spot with a cozy, neighborhood feel. The restroom was immaculate, which I always appreciate. The French onion soup is the real deal, deeply caramelized onions with that perfect sweet-savory balance and a generous layer of melted cheese. Fries were excellent too: natural-cut, crispy outside, fluffy inside, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Visited here when city walked in NYC. As a dark chocolate lover, the Double Chocolate Dipper is a must-try. Although I am never a donut person, I would say I really fall in love with this texture. It’s so special. It’s moist, densed and soft. The sweetness is just right. After finishing one quickly in the store, we took out another as the next day’s breakfast. Yummy 😋 Will definitely come back next time I visit NYC.

Hard to get a table even with a reservation. The food is so yummy and the rolls are BIG. One roll is more than enough for me. Get things to share, the appetizers ate so good and the sushi is delicious. The drinks are ok and the dessert is ok. Get the sushi pizza and the crispy rice! Food is consistent and the restaurant has the best vibe. Some of my favorite sushi in nyc but I wouldn’t call it authentic.

There is something very very cool about The Wren. I hate to admit it but we were those last two patrons who wanted a drink before heading out and the Wren I had been to before. They did not need to seat us but they did and even though it was 10 minute stay at the bar and because we care about people it was an order-and-pay kinda thing. This bar has all the makings of a memorable night out. The vibe was lively, the beer selection was notably extensive, and the wall art added character to the space. For the better part of the evening, we were having a genuinely good time at what seemed like a solid, above-average bar. What truly disappointed me, however, was our interaction with the main server at the end of the night. Without asking, he brought us a single check for our group of five, totaling $328. The food comes out in a more family style manner where it is recommended to get multiple items to try a bit of everything. The popcorn chicken was so good. I think it was my favorite dish of everything we ordered, and the potatoes were perfectly done. The pasta was good, but I didn’t go crazy about it. The draft latte is my favorite coffee ever. I’ve visited different locations hundreds of times and have recommended it to all of my friends. Unfortunately, my experience today (June 13, 2026) was disappointing. The barista wearing a pink T-shirt was noticeably rude. The music was loud and the café was busy, so I genuinely couldn’t hear him when he asked for my name and had to ask him to repeat himself twice. Stunning decor that is totally my style! it made me feel like I was on vacation! My boyfriend had the double macchiato and said it was really good. Tried the matcha latte, matcha & hojicha ice cream, and matcha cheesecake. If you’re curious about their sweetener, they use cane sugar, but you can opt for a stevia alternative. I try not to consume cane sugar so I chose stevia, but guys don’t do it—it has a prominent flavor that messes with the matcha aroma. The matcha itself was good. I have definitely had better ones before in terms of flavor, but what I really appreciated was the texture of the latte: it had great microfoam and a bouncy co

Low-key hangout where fans sip cocktails on couches; on weekends there's a DJ and karaoke.
Although we only paid $25 for two cocktails, the overall experience was disappointing. We felt rushed and somewhat dismissed, as if we were being served as quickly as possible rather than being welcomed as customers. The cocktails themselves were nothing special and did not meet our expectations. What stood out most was the feeling that a tip was still expected despite the lackluster service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning.
