Lovely spot with a cozy, neighborhood feel. The restroom was immaculate, which I always appreciate. The French onion soup is the real deal, deeply caramelized onions with that perfect sweet-savory balance and a generous layer of melted cheese. Fries were excellent too: natural-cut, crispy outside, fluffy inside, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Visited here when city walked in NYC. As a dark chocolate lover, the Double Chocolate Dipper is a must-try. Although I am never a donut person, I would say I really fall in love with this texture. It’s so special. It’s moist, densed and soft. The sweetness is just right. After finishing one quickly in the store, we took out another as the next day’s breakfast. Hard to get a table even with a reservation. The food is so yummy and the rolls are BIG. One roll is more than enough for me. This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops of all time. The vibes are awesome AND they got manga and one piece playing! But it also has cool things everywhere. Although we only paid $25 for two cocktails, the overall experience was disappointing. We felt rushed and somewhat dismissed, as if we were being served as quickly as possible rather than being welcomed as customers. The cocktails themselves were nothing special and did not meet our expectations. What stood out most was the feeling that a tip was still expected despite the lackluster service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning.

Milano’s is a classic. As the rest of the neighborhood keeps changing and developing these guys keep it steady with their plentiful amount of beers on tap and other cocktails ready to order. The bar is super narrow making for close interactions with local New Yorkers and tourists alike who probably are taking shopping trips in nearby soho. Dean Wareham of the bands galaxie 500 and Luna said he used to frequent this place back in the 1980s. They’ve got indie rock cred!
