A cute corridor of a sushi spot. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I have been now both to the UES and the Chelsea location and they are fantastic. The fish is fresh, the ambiance is cozy, and the service is stellar. I will say, this location is exceptionally tight inside, but it has a nice ambiance nonetheless. They were even able to accommodate my Celiac disease, with gluten-free soy sauce. The menu is simple and fulfilling. You can't go wrong with anything here!

Storied circa-1937 cafe known for French classics, timeless decor & a Parisian feel.
Le Veau d'Or was phenomenal from start to finish. The food and atmosphere were at the top of what you would expect from a rising NY star. We started with the escargot, which was perfectly prepared with a crunch that takes this French classic to a different level. The half chickeywa a large portion which was great for sharing. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Our only opportunity for im

Tranquil find with dark-wood decor offering a sushi selection plus cooked Japanese dishes.
The food was decent, probably one of the better options in the neighborhood. It was quiet during lunchtime with only two tables occupied, and the service was fast. The menu is large and easy to understand. My total was $31.57, and I left $35. The waitress came back to tell me that I’m required to leave at least 15% in tips and that I still owed her $3. I paid, and it ended up being a 20.4% tip. This was the first time in the U.S. that someone demanded more tips from me, so I’m giving 3 stars.

Creative sushi with an acclaimed chef's choice omakase menu in an airy Upper East Side locale.
I HIGHLY recommend going to Sushi of Gari on a date night. They have a few locations, we went to the UES one since that’s the one i went to back in the day with an ex of mine and I’ve wanted to go back since then. It’s all classy and crisp looking now, they renovated during Covid. I’m a little sad, i loved the rustic, out of the way, hole-in-the-wall feel it had before but that doesn’t matter - the vibe is still good and the food is AMAZING. They have a set 12-piece omakaze but, like before, y

Casual cafe with old-timey coffee diffusers & breakfast & lunch fare such as eggs & sandwiches.
For years I’ve gone to this cafe and ordered teas and baked goods. Sometimes I have to use the restroom after a long commute. I often use the restroom first before ordering because I really have to go or don’t want to take my food and tea in there. So today I decided to use the restroom before ordering and the owner (who I’ve ordered from many times) walked all the way from the front counter to the bathroom door to tell me that I need to order something to use the restroom. I assured him that I

I celebrated my 23rd birthday at the Majorelle on 2/25/2026 and had the most amazing experience. Not only was very single bite I had phenomenal, with clear artistry and culinary skill present in each bite, but the service and hospitality easily matched. Basil was a lovely server, constantly keeping our cups refilled and indulging in all of my questions and topics of conversation. Matt kindly showed me to the restroom and allowed me a walk through of the club room. All in all I would highly highl

The bar itself seemed fine, and the Guinness was competent. But we will not be returning. We were there for less than five minutes before nearby patrons began making racist and xenophobic comments right in front of us, lightly coded as if we couldn’t hear them. The comments were directed at my wife and her friends, and they seemed especially bothered that they were speaking Japanese. The main offender appeared to be an older man sitting by himself, with another man nearby joining in. It escala

Upper East Side eatery offering sushi & Pan-Asian cuisine in a modern setting.
This Asian fusion restaurant on the Upper East Side is truly one of the best dining experiences in New York City! From the moment you walk in, the service is exceptional and makes you feel like a valued, sincerely welcomed guest. A special shoutout to Alex behind the bar, who crafts outstanding cocktails and creates a welcoming, energetic atmosphere. A very good spot for sushi, with affordable prices and nice staffs. This place has been my favorite sushi spot in UES. If you walk by, you might think this is very boring/old place. However, if you taste its sushi! you will change your mind. They carry very fresh quality of sushi and other rolls. Also, offers lunch menu which has enough portions. Staffs are always nice, and I see regular customers all the time here! kids-friendly of course. Outdoor seats are possible when it's nice outside!

I’ve only been to this bar late night when I’m super drunk and don’t feel like going home and don’t being around most of the clientele I would never even pay to be around or be around during the day when sober. Luckily, I don’t have to pay to get in, but I’d be cautious here as some of the low down, low value men may roofie you, sexually assault you or be angry if you turn them down and you’re an attractive woman. They smoke a lot in the back and the drinks are very watered down, but there’s c

Such a cute and tiny cafe. Staff were very wonderful and friendly; so welcoming. I got the Phnom Penh coffee and sat outside the cafe for a good 30 mins or so just enjoying that shaded area with a nice breeze. It was really really nice, especially after the few hrs of pain in my feet from all that walking. I'm definitely coming back to try their pastries and the other drinks that they have. 😃

Vanessa’s Dumpling House never disappoints. I ordered the steamed and pan-fried chive and pork dumplings, and they were absolutely on point—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying in every bite. The real standout, though, was the pan-fried wontons filled with chicken and shrimp. They were out of this world delicious—crispy on the outside, juicy, and packed with flavor on the inside. On top of the amazing food, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was welcoming and lively, making th

Tried the mango-flavored wings with blue cheese dip and they were absolutely delicious—had me licking my fingers clean! This new spot on the Upper East Side is a great find. The wings were perfectly cooked with a sweet and tangy kick from the mango, and the creamy blue cheese dip was a perfect match. What really stood out was the variety—lots of vegetarian options on the menu, which I’m definitely planning to try next time. Excited to go back!

Absolutely phenomenal food! I could not believe such delicious food came out of a teeny tiny kitchen but they surely made the magic happen. Each dish was brilliantly plated and presented as if it were being served at a dine in restaurant. The chicken shawarma dish was moist, flavorful, delectably seasoned and well complemented with the fresh Jerusalem salad rice. My partner opted for one of the lamb dishes which was fragrant, aromatic and overall a savory delight. If this place were a bigger sit

Summer Rolls ($16) with a substitution of shrimp for avocado and Cari Noodles ($25). The two dishes were both tasty while simultaneously feeling like they nourished the body with wholesome ingredients. The beautiful plating with the pops of colour (added florals and fresh produce) matched the warm, inviting atmosphere. Great attention to detail with the place settings (napkin rosette) and dishes. I had never been to omakase before and this place set the bar unbelievably high. The whole experience was amazing. Exceeded expectations and cannot stop thinking about this whole place. The food somehow tasted better than it looked and it looked gorgeous. Each piece was better than the last. Would definitely come back here. We also had a kosher dietary restriction and they were more than accommodating. I cannot recommend this omakase experience enough!

We have been here a few times for group outings and I’ve always had a good experience. Most recently we came to say farewell to a friend and had a pretty large group of about 15-20. We made a reservation day of and they were able to accommodate us (it wasn’t really crowded anyway at 430 on a Tuesday). They had the tables set up for us in the back room and a large pitcher of water so we could keep refilling as needed. We got some happy hour drinks and appetizers(obviously some fries for me). Eve

As a French person, this place truly feels like home. From the service (Arthur?) to the plate, everything is just right. The atmosphere, the energy, the details — it genuinely feels like being in a Parisian bistro. I started with the foie gras, which was excellent. Served with brioche and a fruit compote, it was perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. Then I had the blanq

We were excited to find a Mediterranean spot that could accommodate everyone's preferences, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous- multiple levels, thoughtfully decorated, and a really lovely ambiance. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the space. Most dishes lacked flavor, almost as if the kitchen was afraid to take anything to the next level. We were most excited for

When you see some restaurants and go into them, you can get a good sense of what that experience is going to be like. This isn’t what Fresh Wok is like. It might look like a typical Chinese restaurant but the food is delicious and the service is so friendly and punctual. The pork egg foo young combination is to die for, especially slathered in the delicious gravy that it comes with. And the egg roll is as crispy and flavorful as you will find anywhere with it. I think it's pretty good! The line was short but people were ordering a lot of items so I'm definitely curious. They have a lot of options, a combo of Chipotle and Dos Toros but no farro. My first order: brown rice, peppers and onions, pinto beans, spicy chicken, corn, pickled onions, tortilla chips, white cheese, lime, cilantro with hot spicy mama sauce. Pretty spicy (7/10) and overall more flavorful than Chipotle (per a Chipotle fan). Can't wait to try the tacos!

This is one of the locations of the famous Parisian bakery in New York, but unlike their larger branches, this one feels more like a small pop-up. It’s quite compact, with very limited space and surprisingly no washroom, which was disappointing for a café. We stopped by for hot chocolate, but they don’t offer the full café experience here — no ceramic cups or signature pots — everything is served in to-go cups, which takes away from the usual charming vibe. That said, the hot chocolate was exce
