Overall: 3.5/5 A decent but somewhat mediocre Vietnamese spot on the Upper East Side. I definitely came in with higher expectations since it’s Michelin guided. Lyly tries to bring a modern twist to traditional Vietnamese cuisine UES Pho (3/5): They are known for their 5-spice smoky short rib pho, but personally, I didn't love the smoky flavor profile in the broth. The short rib itself was also overcooked, leaving the meat a bit tough and rough. On the bright side, I ordered an extra side of br

Recently, a friend treated me to lunch here. I’d never been before, and we had a lovely time together. She ordered us a small “white pie,” which was quite a generous portion, in my view. And it was so delicious! : ) I had two or three slices, as I recall, and I was truly full! The service was fast, friendly and professional. (My friend perhaps received a particularly warm welcome, as she has been frequenting this place for decades, and just loves it.) As you may see in the photos, its decor and

This is my go-to le pain. The food is excellent every single time, the interior beautiful and the service is always good. I’m finally writing a review after I had Billy as a server, who I thought was one of the most focused and quick servers I’ve at there. His calm demeanor chilled out this high-strung New Yorker, too.

This visit was gifted, but you know I only share what I truly think 🤍 This was my first time visiting this location, but not my first time enjoying this gelato brand, and they continue to impress me every time. I’ve tried quite a few flavors, and my absolute favorites are the Yogurt and Dubai Chocolate. If you’re visiting for the first time, those are the two flavors I’d recommend immediately. If you prefer fruity flavors, definitely try the Mango. I also highly recommend trying their tiramis

Had a great experience at The District. Dara was wonderful... from greeting us as the host to serving our table, she was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating available, plus TVs for anyone looking to catch a game. The food was excellent. The steak and cheese was cooked perfectly, and swapping the sweet potato fries for regular fries was no problem at all. The crispy chicken sandwich was also delic

There are four types of restaurants in the world. NYC has a lot of restaurants that are expensive and are good or those that are cheap and are good. Unfortunately, Bar Italia is expensive and awful. I was charged $39 pre-tax, pre-tip 19 pieces of chicken cubes (yes, I counted)! The manager had the GALL to say “well we made it already so BUON APPETITO!” Completely disrespectful, arrogant, and awful! If I get charged $39 pretax for “half chicken” (as stated on the menu), I expect a half chicken.

Will never order from Just Salad again. Not only was there a LARGE INSECT in one of our salads, every single item in our order was either completely missing or missing a side or part of the order. I had quite the disappointing experience at this place. After getting stared at when walking in, we were seated in the very back of the restaurant. While everyone received their beers in pint glasses, ours were served in plastic cups…strange. We also experienced issues with the food, both of the burgers we ordered were completely raw in the center. Once we told them this, they recooked the same burgers, switching them on the wrong plate. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend. What a sham

Best pizza in Manhattan—no contest. The crust strikes that rare balance: perfectly crisp with just enough chew, and the cheese is exceptional—rich, flavorful, and clearly high quality. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the kind of place you want to linger. The owners set the tone—genuinely friendly and attentive. I recently dined at Casa Cruz in the Upper East Side. The ambience is undeniably beautiful — chic décor, warm lighting, and a glamorous setting that makes a strong first impression. However, the atmosphere felt a bit heavy and formal, which took away from the relaxed dining experience we were hoping for. I ordered the steak while my husband had the lamb chops. Unfortunately, the food was just average in taste and presentation; not bad, but certainly not memorable. At first, our server even brou

Excellent food, we had 3 issues w our experience three. 1) Atmosphere/ decor was lacking. If you’re charging $85 for a main course, you should have tablecloths on the tables. 3 tables had tablecloths the rest were bare, felt like we were in a diner. 2) No bread was offered. Once again, for $85 mains, bread should be offered, especially because the sauces were delicious and it would’ve been great to dip bread in. 3) Lastly, they added an 18% gratuity for a party of 2. An old-school Italian eatery with an extensive menu & prime opportunities for people-watching.
There’s something truly special about Campagnola that keeps me coming back. It feels like stepping into a different era, where everything is a little slower, a little warmer, and a lot more authentic. The old school Italian atmosphere is exactly what you hope for but rarely find anymore. It’s not trying too hard, it just is. Soft lighting, classic decor, and that comforting sense that generations of people have sat in those same seats enjoying the same timeless dishes. And the pasta… honestly,

Great food and atmosphere. Usually always a table open, in a good way. The white noise of bells ringing, staffers calling orders, and light table to table conversation makes PJ Bernstein a comfort meal in the heart of UES. Their platters are humongous, definitely a value order especially when taking to go. The staff are always so friendly, they obviously enjoy working there. My family and I celebrated my son’s birthday at Scalinatella in NYC, and it was an amazing experience. The food was incredibly fresh, and the pasta was prepared right in front of us. Highly recommend paletas with no dips or toppings. We got mango dipped in chocolate and sprinkles with cookies (ice cream sandwich style), Oreo dipped in chocolate and sprinkles with cookies (ice cream sandwich style), and the “Healthy Berry” signature paleta or Greek Yogurt Berry dipped in chocolate and almonds. We all ended up eating toppings first and then the paletas clean without toppings. For mango and Greek yogurt berry, chocolate dip and cookies overwhelm the popsicles.

We stopped into Luke’s on a busy marathon afternoon, and the staff still managed to quickly find a table for ten of us — including four hungry, tired kids. The service was amazing, fast, and exactly what we needed after a long day cheering on our brother in the race. The buffalo wings, smash burger and Mike Wallace Meatloaf are to die for, but after several visits I’ve found you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend Luke’s!

We had the omakase experience, so the chef prepared whatever he felt was best for the night instead of ordering individually. I always enjoy this style more because it lets the chef show their own balance and pacing throughout the meal. The quality of the fish was very good and everything felt fresh and carefully prepared. Revival of a longtime restaurant for traditional French fare in a setting with dark woods & mirrors.
We stumbled upon La Goulue after a snowy walk through Central Park and couldn’t have been happier. The restaurant is quaint, charming, and full of classic French ambience—exactly what you hope for on a winter day. The crab salad was beautifully fresh with a lovely vinaigrette, and the onion soup was outstanding—deep, rich, and topped with perfectly melted Gruyère. Beautiful and classic omakase experience. Dishes were creative and paired well with high-end sake and wines. Some nice conversations with the chef and staff, learning more about their craft. Overall, good bagels/brunch spot. This is firstly a shop to buy fish. Their sliced Nova was incredible, and easily the best I’ve had in New York on a bagel. Thinly sliced and extremely fresh. Bagel was on the better end, chewy, though have had better bagels and spread elsewhere. I also was not a fan of $1 to add one of lettuce/onion/tomato, so $3 for all, though the price was otherwise roughly on market for what I got if not higher value. Classy but predictable. Excellent food -corresponding to expectation- albeit sadly presented. Minimalistic with too many lines and inadequate fixtures. Cold, dry lighting. Lacking details (one large "cafeteria style" room with neither partitions nor greenery; no hand moisturizer in restrooms; no munchies accompanying drinks etc.), thus not curated for New York City. Definitely overpriced.
