One of my goto place in Chinatown for Catonese comfort food. There is no wrong order. Roast Chicken, Pork and Duck over Rice for everyday. Congee for when your feeling under the weather. Stir fry kitchen dishes are a must. The staff treats you like family. Always get lectures by the old lady for asking for ice water, stating it's bad for my health. 😆

Compact Taiwanese eatery focusing on beef noodle soups & locally sourced ingredients.
This really surprised me - I liked it a lot. I thought it would be pretty mid/normal Taiwanese breakfast but it was great. The yo tiao in the fan Tuan was super crispy and delicious. The radish cake was a favourite. The savory soy milk and sweet were great. The breakfast roll was good. The breakfast for 2 was super big, and was enough for 3 of us. We got there at 11am on a Sunday and waited around 35 mins. There’s a waitlist so you can walk around while you wait and they’ll text you.

Delicious food, nice service, clean space, very affordable price. Especially loved the dessert. Most dishes were below $20. The waiter and waitress were so much warmer and more friendly than those of the 5 star hotels we stayed in the city. I’d love to come back when visiting New York City next time.

As a Chinese person, I can confidently say that Xie Bao is one of the most authentic Jiangsu–Zhejiang (Jiangnan) restaurants I’ve ever had in the United States. This was my second visit, and once again every single dish was absolutely outstanding. The flavors are incredibly authentic and immediately reminded me of home. If I had to recommend one dish, the Crab Roe Mixed Rice is a must-order and easily the No. 1 item on my list. Honestly, I wish I could come here every week. The complimentary s

Excellent Peking Duck…… probably the best in NYC! Our dinner focused on the duck , so only had two vegetable dishes to balance out the meal. We made a good choices: both veggie dishes are well made, love them. Attentive service by all wait staff. The only criticism is the ambient temperature is on the warm side with outdoor temperature reached 80F today.

SPICY! Definitely be prepared to sweat while you eat this. I thought I could handle spicy but not like this. We tried two different soups: the Signature Spicy Sour with Fish and the Vine Pepper Numbing Flavor with Fish and Beef. They were both labeled as mild spicy but man, were they spicy! We got the Best-Value Combo which was indeed a really good value. For the small, you get 2 add-ons, 2 side dishes, and 2 bowls of rice. There’s a wide variety of sides, ranging from cold, spicy dishes to swe

The flavors are bold and definitely on the spicy side, perfect for anyone who loves heat and strong seasoning. The braised beef mixed rice noodles were the highlight—super flavorful, tender beef, and every bite of noodles was packed with sauce and spice. The steamed ribs with rice powder were surprisingly good too, very tender and comforting. I also really liked the pickled long bean minced pork, it’s tangy, spicy, and very appetizing with noodles. Had dinner at Le Xia in Manhattan and it was such a satisfying experience. We ordered the crab meat pot, BBQ skewers, and black pepper iron plate beef — everything came out flavorful and well-seasoned. The crab meat pot was rich and comforting, definitely the highlight of the meal. The beef was tender with a nice peppery kick, and the skewers were perfectly grilled with that smoky aroma. Portions are generous and great for sharing with friends. Overall, a solid spot if you’re craving Chinese-s

I recently stopped by Halal Express while in the area for an open house and was curious to try this new spot. Halal Chinese food isn’t that common in Brooklyn, so I thought it was interesting enough to give it a shot. The setup is what you’d expect from a classic Chinese fast food restaurant: a straightforward, no-frills interior with a few tables for dine-in, and a counter where you place your order. Behind the counter, two large screens display the full menu along with some daily specials. Ho

Absolutely loved this place! We ordered the whole fish and it was honestly one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The topping with chopped peppers, garlic, and herbs made it really fragrant and slightly spicy in the best way. The fish was tender and easy to eat, you can tell they know what they’re doing. Our dinner was surprisingly good despite the reviews. We were looking for Malaysian but since we haven’t been to Brooklyn Chinatown for a long time, we ended up here. Pacificana used to be one of our fave Dimsum place. It’s been here since the 80s when it used to be downstairs (mom in law said). Popular haunt serving congee & authentic Cantonese noodle dishes in a simple restaurant.
We have been to Shun Won many times, and this time we bought a whole roast duck and a whole scallion oil chicken. Both were delicious as usual, and the quality has been very consistent. The roast duck has great flavor, and the meat is not dry. The scallion oil chicken looks a little different from other places because the color is more yellow, but that is just the appearance — it still tasted very good and the meat was tender. I come here probably once a week with my friend Mere because it’s one of the few delicious yet nutritious dinner spots I’ve found. I could eat it everyday and not get tired!!! Rock-hard noodles. I ordered the rice noodle with braised beef. The rice noodles are too hard without tenderness, feeling like undercooked. I brought the bowl to the staff and they apologized and remade one for me. The new one came back no better than the first one. They are just consistently bad. Either your staff needs more training of how to cook rice noodles properly, or your recipe and SOP (if they exist at all) need to change. I was here for lunch. This Dolar Shop is across from the AMC. They have a spacious venue. This is hot pot but not AYCE! I was confused how to order, but the easiest way is to get the set. You choose meat, soup, and appetizer. Then they give you a veggie plate. It's a lot of food. The flat iron beef set is only $26.99, so I think that's a pretty good deal for all the food you get. Each person has their individual stove and hot pot. You can adjust the heat yourself. There is a buffet-style condi

My bf and I usually stop by here after the gym - really authentic and fresh food that is a mix of dishes from across China. This is a favorite of mine in midtown for suan cai yu (pickled mustard green fish). Every dish, however, isn’t super oily and actually quite delicate given that it’s a bit more high end. I found this amazing restaurant via Google Maps & I’m glad I did! Ordered through Grubhub & everything arrived warm, freshly made & with plentiful amounts! Yum! BBQ Spare Ribs were amazing in taste & fully cooked, not too soft, just right! Scallion pancakes arrived very crispy & not soggy like others I’ve had! Pork fried rice was seasoned perfectly! This place is very RACIST !! I came in one evening to order dumplings, so the lady at the front counter took my order. Moments later, a rude middle aged lady came from the back yelling, we don’t have no dumplings. Was it that they ran out of dumplings or she didn’t want to serve me as an Afro American. This restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet after 9 PM, and it’s a great deal 💰 — only $30 for unlimited meat, seafood, and main dishes, plus you can choose any broth you like 🍲 The meat is mostly frozen and the quality is average, but for the price, it’s really worth it 👍 The buffet usually ends around 10:20 PM, making it perfect for a late dinner when you want to eat freely without spending too much. Zaomen Qian in Flushing and was surprised by how affordable it is — many skewers are only $0.30 each and there’s a big variety to choose from. They also have a promotion where you get a free diaolong beef if you spend $100. Besides skewers, you can also order dishes à la carte. I tried the oysters, fatty beef, and scallops, and everything tasted fresh. Overall a good spot for skewers with lots of options and very reasonable prices.
