From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a warm Caribbean vibe that instantly sets the tone. I couldn’t decide what to rate because I’m having dilemma about the meat of the food I ate. I ordered curried goat first time buying here too. The food is tasty as I have tried many curried goat meals from other restaurants. This one particular is different. It tastes like corned beef can meat. The meat was off the bones and very soft. The color of the food is different from what usual goat curry I got used to yellowish sauce. This one here is not. It is tasty don’t get me wrong I finished it al

I ordered the chicken and waffles over the phone because I prefer having my order ready when I arrive rather than waiting to order in person. It had been quite a while since my last visit, so I had a few questions about the chicken and waffle options. The employee who answered the phone initially took the time to explain the menu choices, which I appreciated. However, as the conversation continued, she seemed to become impatient and suggested that I come in and place the order instead. Despite

I'll give them five stars but there are some things that they really need to work on. Yes, this is a busy location and there will be long lines, but the line moves fast. There's not much scope to ask the servers questions and recommendations; 99% of the crowd knows what they want and they only take 2-3 seconds to place their order. The problem remains for the 1% who are new to Trini and Caribbean food. None of the dishes are labeled, no pricing listed inside. So what this remaining 1% needs to

Friends and I were supposed to go to two different locations for brunch, both were completely full and we ended up at Sweet Science. Service: The staff was incredibly kind. As soon as we walked in (on a busy Sunday and with a child), we were sat within 10 minutes. Our server was Ashley and she gave great recommendations and consistently checked on our table. I’ve been here a number of times and overall I’ve had a good experience. One thing I appreciate is that I never have a hard time finding parking, which is a huge plus in Brooklyn. The food is consistently good. My go to order is the whiting with the red velvet waffles..they’re definitely worth trying. The prices are pretty standard for what you’d expect. My biggest complaints are the hours and the ordering process. They close pretty early, which can be frustrating, and I wish they accepted pho

Absolutely unacceptable. One of the worst Jamaican food experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered pepper steak with rice and peas from Henrica’s, and from the moment I opened the container, it was a red flag. The “pepper steak” was battered in flour—which is already questionable—and when I took the first bite, the steak was clearly undercooked and raw inside. It was disgusting and completely inedible. I stopped eating immediately. The rice and peas was just as bad. Bland, dry, and missing the most

Quite a feast of comfort food!!! Very friendly local unassuming place with very interesting flavors in generous portions which were perfect for a cold day in Brooklyn. Visiting from Los Angeles I had no exposure to this type of Caribbean food before and honestly it really hit the spot and was delicious. The rice bowl I ordered had a wide variety of veggies. Really quite amazing. Honestly I can’t wait to come back and wish I had this kind of place back home. It’s also very reasonably priced. O

I’m giving 3 stars mainly because the peas and rice are very inconsistent. Some days they’re well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, but other times they’re either too salty or undercooked. Unfortunately, today was one of the bad days the rice was bland and not fully cooked, and the peas were still hard. It’s frustrating not knowing what to expect each time. I’m not sure if it depends on who’s cooking that day, but the lack of consistency really needs to be addressed.

For the price it’s a steal, the flavors of both dishes were on point, the goat head soup was seasoned right and had a lot of meat, my only problem is the grade of meat and how big the pieces were. I appreciate the hearty soup, but some of the goat pieces were very large and they were cooked down but was dry. The jerk pork flavor was on point imo, but again, the pieces were so large. Nothing was chopped up and a lot of the skin had hair on it. Cheap pork pieces.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience with an order placed through the Grub Hub app. The order, which totaled over $50, was similar to one I had placed the previous week with nearly the same quantity of items and total cost. Well there is truth to the saying that the best food comes from a hole in the wall restaurant. This tiny cramped space is churning out food that has people lined up outside with their vehicles double parked along the street and their hungry owners nervously glancing in their direction as they wait their turn to order. A great variety of Caribbean dishes and drinks, although I was a bit disappointed that there were no desserts (I was hoping for rum cake). I was really looking forward to this visit, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing, especially given that our bill was nearly $300. We waited close to two hours for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. My three-year-old’s fries were ice cold. The lamb chops I ordered medium were served well-done and extremely overcooked, to the point that they were difficult to chew. Unfortunately, my experience at Tropical Jerk's was disappointing. While my mother was placing her order with the cashier, one of the chefs came out and began taking orders from customers who were behind her in line. I’ve been coming to HEAT Caribbean Kitchen since it first opened its doors — and it’s still one of my favorite local spots. It’s got that rare mix of authenticity, soul, and energy that keeps you coming back. Sad to say the new owners are absolutely NOT Jamaican and know nothing about us. Clearly this is a business they purchased and that’s it. Ordered the simplest thing, jerk chicken, rice and peas with oxtail gravy. Everything tasted like barbecue sauce. This is the final chance I’m giving them. I have eaten here few times since J used to do the Q23 when it used to run on 102nd street and used to be good. Used to love their curry chicken, oxtail and curry goat. Being from India, the curry flavor was spot on for my taste buds but that is history now. I tried their food in mid-March 2026 and it was SALTY. I read someone else review that their food tasted bland, maybe they over-compensated, taste, flavor isn't just salt and pepper, leave that to the brits. Please fix your food quick becaus

Last night was my first and last time at the Rogers Garden. Upon entry, there was a woman who checked my ID and then asked to check my handbag. I tried Jade II and had a pretty good experience overall. Their Guyanese Chinese fried rice is flavorful and well-seasoned, with a nice mix of ingredients that makes it really satisfying. The portions are generous, which is a big plus. However, the service and wait time can sometimes be a bit inconsistent. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re craving Guyanese Chinese food, especially for the fried rice.

I honestly don’t know why this place was not packed. I’m in New York for three days and I’ve gone all 2/3 days. The food is plentiful, hot and taste great. 100/10, I would recommend. Sorrell is really good and not too heavy on the ginger.

my partner enjoys the breakfast so we decided to come here after being away for a few years.. it was both of our first time trying the fried dumpling, cabbage, stew, chicken, oxtails, rice, and peas with plantains.. I did enjoy my oxtails the stew chicken wasn’t cooked properly. It was too hard and dried out.. the fried dumpling was also hard and not enjoyable.. rice and peas wasn’t made with the typical Jamaican rice had a old fridge taste to it… cabbage was good, but I mean, how can you mess u
