We passed by this rather new restaurant many times and decided to book dinner here. We made a reservation which I believe is a must. It is a rather small space on the ground level but there are stairs to more tables on the second floor. We both ordered the Silver Wagyu Set which comes with a huge platter of great veggies, a huge platter of seafood including crab legs and to start, 6 wood blocks with a different meat on each. We also got 6 more blocks of meat. A limited selection of appetizer

We have visited this lovely little restaurant twice during our trip to the City. Once for lunch and once for dinner. They lunch specials are great and decently priced for the large amount of food you get. The dinner menu includes sushi and dinner plates. For dinner we ordered the gyoza which were fresh and delicious. Those in our party ordered sushi and we had chicken katsu platter. The sushi was fresh and delicate. So very good. Went to Kamisama Ramen and honestly everything we ordered was really good. The spicy miso ramen had a rich broth with the perfect amount of heat, while the garlic ramen was super flavorful and comforting without being overpowering. The chicken karaage was crispy, juicy, and seasoned really well. The wings were fresh and packed with flavor, and even the fries were crispy and addicting. The seaweed salad was a nice refreshing balance to everything else. Portions were satisfying and the food came o

Great first omakase experience! It’s BYOB so we brought and got served sake. 13 course for 75$ is a great price and you get to taste various flavors. Small and cozy bar, and staff were friendly and attentive.

This Japanese spot totally blew my mind! As a die-hard sushi lover, I swear it’s the BEST quality Japanese food in Flushing. I just popped in randomly late at night looking for a quick bite—never in a million years did I expect this affordable spot to hit omakase-level goodness! I asked the manager, and turns out the owner handpicks all the fish at the freshest seafood market deep into the night. If you’re in Flushing craving super fresh, budget-friendly Japanese food after dark, trust me—this p

We had an amazing experience here. Owner Chef Genta’s sushi was truly exceptional, you can really feel the precision and care in every piece. Knowing that he trained at Ginza Kyubey makes perfect sense once you taste it. The service was warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere strikes a great balance. It’s a super family-friendly restaurant, yet the sushi bar is also perfect for an intimate night out. Can’t wait to come back with my kids next time!

Great lunch special here! Lunch specials are offered Monday through Saturday from 11 to 3. Entrées come with choice of soup or salad and most are priced under $18. The sushi is so fresh. They offer a very nice assortment of sushi rolls. There’s also classic hot lunch like teriyaki or hibachi. The inside is adorable and very welcoming and the service was excellent.

Came here for a late lunch at 3:30pm with a friend and it was pretty empty, with a few solo diners and small groups. Highly recommend the New Tokyo ramen if you enjoy a lighter broth and truffle flavors. Portions are very generous - one bowl per person and a shared appetizer is more than enough for 2. Service was great, and we did not feel rushed at all, despite staying for nearly 1.5 hours. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes in the future!

It was a delicious dining experience. The ramen broth was excellent, and the food presentation was very appetizing. A cute corridor of a sushi spot. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I have been now both to the UES and the Chelsea location and they are fantastic. The fish is fresh, the ambiance is cozy, and the service is stellar. I will say, this location is exceptionally tight inside, but it has a nice ambiance nonetheless. They were even able to accommodate my Celiac disease, with gluten-free soy sauce. The menu is simple and fulfilling. You can't go wrong with anything here!

Very nice spot, food was great. Atmosphere was very nice and would definitely recommend especially if you are looking to plan a date, the music isn’t too loud as it’s mostly Japanese soft pop. Nicely decorated though mostly for smaller groups as the space can be a bit tight. Got the Noodles (Hot Men and Regular Men) was very flavorful and the Hot Men was not too spicy. Highly recommended! We were in New York for over a month and ate at this restaurant half the time! We tried both fish and meat, and it was all delicious! The food was decent, probably one of the better options in the neighborhood. It was quiet during lunchtime with only two tables occupied, and the service was fast. The menu is large and easy to understand. My total was $31.57, and I left $35. The waitress came back to tell me that I’m required to leave at least 15% in tips and that I still owed her $3. I paid, and it ended up being a 20.4% tip. This was the first time in the U.S. that someone demanded more tips from me, so I’m giving 3 stars.

Very unusual ambiance here. Looks like a posh old time living room Japanese style. The place has an enormous menu. The famous Kaisen Don Signature dish was OK. The fish broth that takes 60 hours to make was just ok, not super duper. We ended up liking eel dinner set with that broth much better. Sushi was an OK quality but not top the line high end than one could expect. This place is definitely worth a visit but the food quality could be a notch better to live it up to par with high end appea

Compact sushi joint in a subdued, exposed-brick space serving creative rolls & Japanese mains.
I ordered chicken soba noodles and Philadelphia sushi at the restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and I really enjoyed both dishes. The place wasn’t very crowded inside, and it seems like most people prefer takeout rather than dining in. We ordered in person, and while the experience was overall fine, the staff could have been a bit more warm and welcoming. Nothing negative, just an area that could be improved. Such a lovely experience here. Great value and really tasty food. I got the teriyaki salmon and a veggie tempura, and the server was so friendly and patient—she suggested I switch to the smaller tempura so it wouldn’t be too much. I’m glad I listened because the portions were generous. The salmon was crispy and tender, and the rice was delicious. As a true salmon lover, I was really happy. A very good spot for sushi, with affordable prices and nice staffs. This place has been my favorite sushi spot in UES. If you walk by, you might think this is very boring/old place. However, if you taste its sushi! you will change your mind. They carry very fresh quality of sushi and other rolls. Also, offers lunch menu which has enough portions. Local outpost of an acclaimed Tokyo restaurant specializing in chicken skewers cooked over charcoal.
At one of New York’s rare Michelin one-star yakitori restaurants, I was reminded how extraordinary chicken can be. The Welcome Appetizer, Sake Kasu Char Siu was the perfect opening, with rich sake lees aroma complementing the tender, flavorful char siu. Every skewer that followed was exceptional. The Thigh achieved the perfect balance of a beautifully charred exterior and an incredibly juicy, tender interior. The Tail delivered an irresistible richness from its rendered fat, while the Chicken

The worst, most bland ramen I’ve ever had. I’m extremely disappointed in the ramen I just got. The broth is horrible and entire thing is flavorless. I am throwing the entire thing in the trash. Money completely wasted. Will never order from here again. So pissed. I was craving ramen all day only to get a bowl that taste terrible.

Been here twice and the food is consistently great. The fish tastes so fresh and high quality. It doesn't taste overly gamey or rubbery. The Salmon Tartare appetizer was my favorite! Love the way it's wrapped in thin avocado slices vs. thick chunks. The Lobster roll is my go to and the size of each piece / meat quantity is excellent. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The outdoor dining area is nicely decorated with a bit of a vibe (eg Japanese style sliding doors). The vibe inside is

For us and the commute — it was a cool one-time experience and I would only recommend it to friends in the area. Clean and neat, open viewing of the ramen and sushi area. Staff was efficient. There's a lunch special of ramen + a half appetizer for an extra $4. The gyoza are deep-fried.. I should've asked as I prefer pan fried. The miso ramen, not bad, but the pork was cold and chewy on that and the Jack Black (spicy black garlic oil). We stopped in here recently and had a great time. We started with the gyoza, tempura string beans, and the edamame. We ordered the shrimp tempura for our daughter. It came with 4 pieces and came out very hot. Our daughter found that out the hard way on the first bite. The yellowtail scallion, peanut avocado, rock shrimp avocado, and the mini tent rolls were excellent. Almost everything we ordered was delicious. Our service was great and we will definitely be back again soon.

This spot nails the ambiance—the low lighting creates an intimate, sophisticated vibe. The sushi counter is the real star here; it’s spacious and perfectly angled so you can watch the chefs work their magic. We opted for the nigiri set and the uni, both of which were fresh. This is a Japanese restaurant run by Thai staff. The vibe is quite nice, but overall I’d rate it around 2.5/5, maybe due to unclear processes or insufficient kitchen training and the fact that the food simply doesn’t taste good. (After I spoke to the waitress, she kept apologizing and gave us a cheesecake, so I bumped my rating from 2 to 2.5.) I grew up in Japan, so I can say with confidence this is not authentic sukiyaki at all. The dish was completely misrepresented and did not resemble traditional Japanese preparation in any way.Instead of a properly balanced sukiyaki broth, it felt more like a soup-like mixture, lacking depth and authenticity. The beef was especially disappointing—cut thick, oddly chewy, and far from the tender texture expected in a well-made sukiyaki.Overall, the quality and execution were very poor and did not r

The service was great, everything was brought out so quickly and all at once (did not love that part, though). The restaurant is a small place. Atmosphere was good/okay. She was absolutely fantastic—attentive, warm, and highly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were

This is the best Sushi and Tea Bar in NYC, they have the best variety of foods and drinks. What I love about this place is that they keep certain drinks like the strawberry fresh Milk tea for all seasons not like some other places that only have it available in the summer. The staff is very friendly and polite. The setup is very nice because you can see ur food and drinks when they are preparing it. Oh and they give u this little beeper that beeps when ur order is ready! All of the seatings are

Had an amazing Chef's special Omakase here and every piece was carefully crafted and fish was super fresh. Probably one of the best Uni I have ever tasted in NYC. The handrolls were delicious too and we added on salmon and spicy rock shrimp to the experience. Paired it with sake and had a fantastic dinner.

The restaurant is located in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine. Several tables are available for dining in with servers. Soups 🍲, salads 🥗, appetizers, sushi 🍣 and sashimi, rolls, entrees, party trays, sides and beverages are on the menu. I ordered a regular party tray and miso soup. The food was well-prepared and tasty. Friendly and helpful staff.

Quaint little eatery serving sushi, noodle soups, smoothies & other Japanese comfort foods.
So glad we finally got around to trying out this spot. I had the miso soup to start and it is probably the best I have ever had! The salmon and parsley onigiri was delicious. My girls had the chicken ramen and chicken udon. Both were delicious! We will definitely be going back! Love that the chef and owner came out to serve and chat with us. She is lovely.
