Longtime Japanese spot with a serene vibe offering a Kyoto-style menu of hot dishes, plus sashimi.
Service was EXCEPTIONAL! Very detailed and courteous staff. One individual noticed I had a small bag and asked to store it away so I could enjoy my dinner. The concierge helped us slip into our checked winter jackets before we left. Btw the food was on point 🤤. We will return. One small drawback is it’s CASH or AMEX only.

Nice little restaurant with friendly staff. The food was underwhelming. I wanted to love it, ramen after ramen. I ordered the Spicy tan tan ramen, Beef Niko Udon and the Pork Miso Udon and they all lacked flavor. The Beef Niko was sweet and was my least favorite. The Spicy tan tan ramen wasn’t spicy at all. I asked twice for any spicy sauce and none were spicy. It was definitely disappointing. It was definitely an upsetting $100 bill worth of food.

This restaurant was beautiful! The staff were very attentive and just all around amazing. We were celebrating and ordered a bunch of items off the menu. We got some of the wagyu, the burger, sushi, sides, fried rice. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The sushi melted in your mouth and the garlic shrimp fried rice was some of the best I’ve ever had. We got the spicy tuna appetizer and that blew me away! The same with the Brussel sprouts. Everything was so good and we had an amazing time. I w

Had a great experience at The Gallery by ODO. The food was beautifully presented and every dish was full of flavor. You can really tell that a lot of thought and attention goes into both the ingredients and the overall dining experience. The service was excellent throughout the meal. Everyone was professional, attentive, and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. The atmosphere was elegant, intimate, and relaxing, making it a great place for a special occasion or a nice night out. Eve

Very unique and delicious dishes! The anchovy potato was out of this world! The scallops were so fresh, as well as the sushi. The reason I have 4 stars for the food is because my husband wasn’t satisfy enough with the beef steak. Compared to other dishes, this one was quite average. It could have been just not to his taste, unfortunately I couldn’t try it bc I’m a pescatarian. The cocktails were extremely yummy. If you love matcha, you must try the matcha low alcohol thing, I don’t usually orde

I have been to many Omakase and now this place has become one of my faves. Hands down to one of the best omakase meals I’ve had. Each piece melted in my mouth, and the progression of flavors was perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality and craftsmanship in every bite. Super fresh, super flavorful, and the chef made it such an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend for a special night out at reasonable price 15 course for $78. The star of the set is undoubtedly the salmon sashimi, thick-cut and each slice impeccably fresh. This sashimi set feels complete and well-composed: fresh fish, good price, and satisfying portions. It’s an excellent choice for a midday sushi fix that leaves you full without feeling weighed down.

So glad we finally got around to trying out this spot. I had the miso soup to start and it is probably the best I have ever had! The salmon and parsley onigiri was delicious. My girls had the chicken ramen and chicken udon. Both were delicious! We will definitely be going back! Love that the chef and owner came out to serve and chat with us. She is lovely.

Was the sushi to die for? No. Was it tasty and a good deal? Yes. We got the spicy tuna crunchy rice appetizer (this was to die for) the three roll combo which came with a choice of either miso soup or salad. The service was great and it was pretty chill for a Thursday night. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable and nice but to me it’s the epitome of cozy. It was satisfactory and I’d go back.

Excellent Omakase restaurant on the upper east side. Very high quality seafood, much of which is flown in from Japan. Professional Omakase chef and friendly, professional staff. Lovely atmosphere in this tastefully decorated restaurant. Most patrons sit at the counter where they can chat with the chef who presents an array of delicious delicacies, which may vary seasonally and even daily. Excellent selection of sake. There are two seatings nightly and reservations are required. This is the best

Best sushi and omakase experience. Honestly the food was so delicious not sure if I can have sushi that easily elsewhere. Tune is my favorite ❤️ and all the tuna courses were absolutely delicious, the chu toro, Akami and the handrolls were my fav. The Wagyu piece was my husbands fav. My mom said it was the best food experience she had. Thank you to our chef and Leon for the wonderful sake recommendation.

What an incredible place. The food was the best meal I’ve ever had. The chef is amazing and so kind and humble. He literally cuts every single vein out of the fish in prep. The service was amazing. Great experience at Gyu-Kaku LIC! The meats were fresh, flavorful, and fun to grill at the table. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, perfect for a night out with friends or family. Will definitely be back!

I had a really great experience at this very nice restaurant here on Madison Avenue. The place is clean, well-kept, and has a comfortable atmosphere. What really stood out to me was the service. The cashier, Desenia, was wonderful—kind, polite, and very professional. She gave us generous portions and made sure to check if we needed anything else before we sat down to eat. I appreciated that she took the time to thank us personally and told us to enjoy our meal, which made us feel truly welcome.

Yoshino lives up to its hype. A delicately balanced service, wit from Chef, and all around delicious food. We were lucky enough to get some prized tuna (no. 1 at the Tokyo auction the previous day). This was presented as a trio (pictured). I also really enjoyed the uniqueness of the non-nigiri courses. Standouts for me were the Karasumi Mochi, Umaki and Menuke. Lastly, the tamago was also different than all others I’ve had. A brûléed top with a much more custardy interior than I’ve typically se

Such a lovely sushi bar! I told the chef that I really love scallops, and he kindly suggested that I try their secret chirashi bowl. When I saw it, I honestly didn’t even want to touch it at first because it looked so beautiful and carefully arranged — like a piece of art. But after the first bite, I understood why he recommended it. The scallops were incredibly fresh and sweet, and the toro was rich, fatty, and buttery. Every piece tasted amazing. What really surprised me was the rice — perfect

It is hard to find good good sushi sometimes in NYC and especially in Brooklyn Heights. I came in hopeful, but not expecting too much. The sushi exceeded my expectations with the freshness and quality of the fish. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the miso soup, which was a bit lacking in miso flavor. I will definitely come back for the omakase.

I had a very disappointing experience at this sushi restaurant. I ordered the yellowtail sashimi, which came with only about six pieces, and the slices were extremely thin—almost paper-thin—especially considering how expensive this restaurant is. It was absolutely not worth the price. On top of that, the chef had a very poor attitude. He was openly arguing with the waitress in front of customers, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and unprofessional. Overall, the food quality did not matc

Amazing local sushi spot. Came in clutch when I needed to pick up a late dinner. They were kind enough to take my order 30 mins before closing. The salmon was fresh, perfect fish to rice ratio, and the miso soup stayed hot through my trip home. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the quality (sushi combo, pint of miso soup, and drink were ~$24). Can’t wait to come back!

The food was okay. The general two's chicken was a little lackluster and the fried shrimp a bit oily. The poke bowl was going great, until I bit down on something inedible and pulled out what looks like a thick piece of a cut up plastic. :( Was hoping it was just the peel of a shrimp, but there's a boxy pattern on it.

Low-key, off-the-beaten-path Japanese spot serving sushi & other creative fare in an intimate space.
Katsuno is Forest Hills' best kept secret. They only open a few days a week for a couple hours, and reservations must be made in advance. If you walk by too fast, you just might miss the store front. The food is fresh and authentically made by an old Japanese couple. This meal will cost you, but every bite is worth it. I loved the hamachi kama. To ease the nerves, she told stories of past customers who ordered as much as 20 extra pieces of a sushi. She was super attentive, and made sure our cups were never empty. To aid in the chilly weather of false spring I decided to look up some highly rated ramen spots in the area of Queens. I managed to land on this one! I can say, I was not disappointed. My ramen came out quickly and was piping hot. The broth was flavorful and seasoned well. The noodles were also filling along with the pork. Really enjoyed my visit to Sushi Nikko. For $68, the 14-course omakase is a great value in NYC. The quality of the fish was solid throughout, and a few pieces really stood out—especially the botan ebi with uni and the otoro with caviar. Simple presentation, but every bite was satisfying. The fish tasted fresh which was super nice! The rice was slightly dried out. The crab inari, salmon, and tuna nigiri were my favorites. I had to dock points because I honestly did not enjoy any of the “specialty” sushi’s I tried. The flavors were unpleasant. Here’s my breakdown: Twilight sushi-why shrimp tempura inside? Also the eel skin tasted a little too pungent. Rising sun sushi-why imitation crab…the salmon was enough. Also flavors just didn’t mesh. Wasn’t the worst though. All buru-flavor

Really nice and hardworking couple runs this place. The best deal here is 3 rolls for $20 after tax, that's crazy for Brooklyn. The simple ones are best, like plain tuna or yellowtail. Spicy anything has too much crunchy bits. Support this place, call to order and pay in cash.

Love this place! Great ambiance, amazing service and delicious food! Just came here for some drinks and ending up ordering a bunch of food. Sooo good! Love their Yellow Jalapeño - soooo fresh and absolutely delicious. Staff were nice, food was prepared quickly. But they were out of stock of a lot of options at the time, I guess the 12pm crowd ate most of the food. Ended up getting dumplings on the side and those were good too, but if you want a big meal you definitely need to get a side or double meat. I was not impressed with their lunch special salmon teriyaki that I ordered with brown rice. Flavor was not terrible but portion was really sad for $12. There was only 4 sad pieces of brocolli with semi dry salmon which barely filled the plastic container and on top of that I had to go back because they gave me white rice instead of the brown.
